To Christine
My first memories of you are from nine years ago when Julian was a kindergartner in Diane's crazy K/1 split class, and Olive was just 3 years old.
Olive and I would volunteer during Library and you would let her sit with the class while you read, and I would help check out books and shelve while you and the kids kept an eye on her.
She loved that time in Library.
I had a fondness for you way back then, so many years ago, before I had the honor of really getting to know you as your colleague. You are one of the reasons I found a home in this building as a building sub and I will be forever grateful to you for that, for your mentorship, for your guidance, and for your support.
You are a person who does the work of standing up for what you believe in, fighting for the people who need to be fought for, and saying the hard things that need to be said.
The Library and our building will feel so unbelievably different without your presence.
A simple "thank you" doesn't seem sufficient to properly express gratitude for all that you have done.
So I leave you with this story of photos and words to remind you of the impact you had on me and how much you will be missed.
I hope that your move up north is one filled with joy, adventure and peace.
Thank you for everything,
Jenille
