why spend money on photos when my phone camera takes awesome photos?

I get it. We all have fancy cameras at our fingertips, in our pockets, in our bags. But, how often are you intentionally using that fancy camera and getting yourself in the frame? I’m not talking about selfies here. You deserve more than a selfie. I’m talking about documenting the deep love & connection between you and your loved ones; taking authentic moments and turning them into your family legacy. Turning them into your legacy. The days feel so long when they’re little and the sleepless nights seem to never end, but they do. Quickly. In a blink. Don’t let these years slip by without getting in the frame, for real. Your legacy is worth more than a selfie.

holy shit, why do your sessions cost so much money?

I am a single mom - this is my livelihood. And, my art and the experience I offer is worth it. I have intentionally priced myself as neither the most expensive nor the cheapest so that I am able serve more families, and still be able to support my own family.

when should i book a session?

I book out about 2 - 4 months in advance with spring, summer and fall being the busiest times for family sessions and outdoor maternity sessions. Winters are slow and amazing for in home sessions. I book all sessions year round, but it is always a good idea to get on my schedule as soon as possible as I book sessions on a first come first serve basis.

what if it rains and I have an outdoor session scheduled?

We all know Michigan weather is super unpredictable, so for outdoor sessions I like to wait until the last minute to reschedule. It also depends on how adventurous you are! If the weather is truly working against us we will reschedule for a mutually convenient day. If you have a studio or in home session booked, we will shoot rain or shine!

OMG I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR, CAN YOU HELP?

Sure can! Part of the experience I offer to my clients is a full prep guide that walks you through putting outfits together, my favorite vendors as well as access to my client closet (mostly maternity items).

DO I HAVE TO GET NAKED FOR MATERNITY PHOTOS?

Absolutely not! While a lot of my maternity portfolio includes nude portraits, this is absolutely not a requirement for maternity sessions! You get to do you, and I am her to document that, whatever it looks like. I focus on true authentic portraiture, and this means representing who you are.

What is a “Not your normal family session” Session?

To me, family photography is NOT everyone posed with fake smiles looking at the camera; it is the quiet moments of siblings sneaking sweet snuggles, or the way their tiny hands hold the spoon as they eat their cereal, or a parent snatching a quiet cup of coffee while chaos ensues around them. What do we take away from forced smiles and posing? Nothing except bad memories and nobody wanting to do that again. The real moments though? Those are the ones you don’t want to let slip away. The way she watches you brush your hair in the morning, or how they all still fit in the tub together - those are the moments worth documenting. My family sessions document your family as they are: real, authentic, true. Sessions run for different lengths of time depending on what package you choose. The shortest sessions last about two hours while a full day in the life is just that - a full day in the life.

do you offer mini sessions?

One of the core values of my business is connection and getting to know my clients. This is so important to me. This is why mini sessions are only available to returning clients. A 20 minute session with folks brand new to me is just not enough time to create that connection and authenticity that is vital to my business and client experience.
